Hello. My name is Rachel Martin and I am a freelance web designer and consultant based in London.
Flying Kites Kenya is a organisation which helps vulnerable children in developing countries.
The Flying Kites children's home is based on a farm in the Highlands of Kenya.
Flying Kites wanted a site which would reflect the professional approach they take to caring for children. They wanted to set themselves apart from the dusty brown graphic style seen on some non-profit websites.
The colours chosen for the site were later used to decorate the home on the farm.
The site was made with PHP. A large amount of text content was made easily accessible using a Javascript drop down menu. The site also includes video clips.
